Navy Blue

Quick March for Concert Wind Band.

Commissioned in 1989 by the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, Flag Officer Plymouth to mark the Centenary of the Royal Naval shore establishment HMS Drake in the city of Plymouth. The march attempts to encapsulate the essence of this association with musical references to many popular naval melodies.

Raleighing Cry

Quick March for Concert Wind Band.

This march was written in November 1990, and given this punned title to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Royal Naval Training establishment, HMS Raleigh, in Torpoint, Cornwall. Musical references to melodies such as "Hearts Of Oak", "A Life On The Ocean Wave" and "The Sailor's Hornpipe" can be heard, culminating with the Cornish melody "Trelawney" performed by the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, Flag Officer Plymouth on the Clovelly recording "Marches Of The Sea"

The Lifeboatmen

The Official Quick March of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution

This march, written in 1992, was commissioned by the Rame Peninsula Branch of the R.N.L.I. in memory of the late Sir Alec Rose, who worked tirelessly for the Institution. This piece is dedicated to all past and present members of the R.N.L.I.

Originally composed in 1987 to commemorate the opening of a new Band Complex for the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, Flag Officer Plymouth, this piece is ideal 'curtain-raiser' for concert performances.

World In Union

Slow March for Wind Band.

The original theme used by Charlie Skarbek to create 'World In Union', recorded by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, was taken from Jupiter, the fourth movement of The Planets Suite by Gustav Holst. The melody is also well known as the hymn tune, I Vow To Thee My Country". This arrangement was produced for the Royal Marines Bands to play at the 1991 Rugby Union World Cup Finals at Twickenham.

Performed at the Royal Albert Hall, London by the Massed Bands of Her Majesty's Royal Marines on the Blue Band recording "The Mounbatten Festival of Music 1997".

The Longest Day

Quick March for Wind Band.

Arranged in 1993, this is the theme written by Paul Anka for the film "The Longest Day". The film tells the story of D" Day, the day of the Allied landings on the coast of Northern France which occurred on 6th June 1944. This arrangement is in the style of a patrol, featuring the Royal Marines Corps Of Drums.

Performed at the Royal Albert Hall, London by the Massed Bands of Her Majesty's Royal Marines on the Blue Band recording "The Mounbatten Festival of Music 1994".

Auld Lang Syne

Arranged for Concert Wind Band / Fanfare Trumpets / Organ / Bagpipes / Vocalist.

Created in 1992, for the annual Mounbatten Festival of Music, this arrangement was produced to feature the organ of the Royal Albert Hall, a vocalist, plus bagpipes, as well as the full Concert Band and Fanfare Trumpets of the Royal Marines, and 'The President's Own' United States Marine Band.

Performed at the Royal Albert Hall, London by the Massed Bands of Her Majesty's Royal Marines and 'The President's Own' United States Marine Band on the Blue Band recording "The Mounbatten Festival of Music 1992".

Monte Carlo Or Bust

Overture for Concert Wind Band.

An arrangement of the overture to the comedy film "Monte Carlo Or Bust", by Ron Goodwin. It features the themes that represented the various characters taking part in the vintage car rally, which forms the plot of the movie.

Drake 400 Suite

Suite for Concert Wind Band.

Composed by Ron Goodwin, the noted composer of film music, this suite was commissioned in 1980 by the City of Plymouth Council. It was performed as part of the celebrations to mark the 400th Anniversary of Sir Francis Drake's circumnavigation of the World.
